Hello! My name is Morgan. I studied geography in k-12 school before so its been a little while, but I am excited to learn more. This is a course requirement for my Elementary Education degree. The the three locations I put on the map were The place I was born St. Louis MO, the place I currently live Fairbanks AK, and The place I most would like to visit which was Japan to go skiing there.

Hello all!

This is Rebecka Bowlus. I have studied some elements of geography in the past. I have taken orienteering classes to travel the back country safely without roads/trails. I have taken several geology classes formally in both secondary school and in college. Finally, throughout high school and for several years in college, I participated in the Model United Nations with which I have gained a decent working knowledge of human borders, geographic borders, and natural resources of many countries and regions.
This course is a requirement for my degree (education) but I am enthusiastic about being here nonetheless.
My mapped locations are Anchorage, AK for my birthplace; Dillingham, AK for my current location; and Istanbul, Turkey because I would love to explore the Cappadocian fairy houses and other World Heritage Sites throughout the country.

Hi! I'm Lateasia, I go by Asia. I'm an online student at UAF currently residing in Anchorage. I grew up on the west side of Anchorage moved to the south side with my family and now that I'm on my own, I live on the east side! I've always been interested in going to Reykjavik, Iceland. The first time I thought about that idea was after watching a movie called The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The soundtrack is amazing!!

My only knowledge about geography comes from what I've learned in K-12, it has never been an interest of mine however I'm taking this class amongst others because it fulfills a requirement and seemed the most interesting of all my choices.

Hello, I'm Forrest. I'm taking this class online because the physical location was all filled up. This class is going to be a requirement for me later down the line (teaching). My only experience with Geography has been putting names to states. I was born in Juneau before moving here. I've always wanted to visit all the villages in Alaska since I want to be able to explore the state I live in, but if I had to primarily pick a location it'd probably be Nome mostly because you hear about it all the time as a kid reading 'Balto'.

Hi, I'm Malcolm Yerkes, and I'm a freshman at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am currently an undeclared student, and this class will get me closer to the degree that I choose. Back in my senior year of high school, I had to take two semesters of Geography online for credit.

As I posted before on the map, I'm from Nikiski, AK, I currently live in Fairbanks, AK, and I would really like to visit Finland someday.

Hi everyone, my name is Abigail Hills. I was born in Washington but moved up here for my father's job. I currently live in a small community on Prince of Wales Island. I am a senior in high school this year. I am planning to continue my college education but also join the Army. I have not taken a geography class before. I am looking into getting a degree in Justice and I am not positive if this class is a requirement for my degree. I am looking forward to this class.

Hello everyone. My name is Evelyn Oxereok. I am currently studying Natural Sciences though I would like to switch to Elementary Education (K-8). This course would be a requirement for the Elementary Education degree and also a GER for my current degree. I believe I studied a small amount of geography as a part of a history class in the sixth grade. I have not gone further than this though so I am very excited to see what I can learn from this course and from all of you. I was born in Amherst, NY but I was raised in Alaska because one of my parents is Alaskan Native as am I. I currently live in Northway, Ak as a K-2 aide. I would love to visit Machu Picchu in the future because of the wonderful history it provides to all archaeologists and anthropologists as well as its architecture.

Hello, my name is Elton Chanar and my Yup'ik name is Canaar. I am a junior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and I am going to pursue a Bachelors of Arts degree in Rural Development. Currently, I am in the GER program so this class that I am in is required for my GERs. My application is in the process for the RD program. I took a geography class when I was in either middle school or high school.

Hi classmates! My name is Jennifer Zurita. I started at UAF with an interest in Psychology. I have since then shifted to Social Work. This class is a requirement and I am pretty stoked about getting started. I do not have any recollection of ever studying geography. I am from Washington State but, blessed with a change of scenery every 3 years due to my husband being active duty military. I added the following to the class map: Tacoma, WA, San Antonio, TX is where I am currently, and a place I would like to visit Dubai, UAE.
